Kennel Coffee Roasters

Kennel Coffee Roasters We are a coffee roastery, not a coffee shop, but Facebook has no category for roasters. Roasted to order is always available.

We offer select single origin and unique blends of speciality grade whole bean coffee, always freshly roasted in Willow Alaska.

I just wanted to send appreciation for all the new followers and those that stopped by the booth at the first Willow Farmers Market for 2026 yesterday. I finally bought my own canopy, so the bright red you see is easy to find in the usual mix of ubiquitous white tents.

I'm a retired IT guy who now has a bit of an aversion to IT things. I'm not a "content creator" or an "influencer". I'm a dog musher and a coffee roaster. đŸ˜†But I'm very passionate about those two things. One of the bonuses of buying local is if you don't like your coffee for any reason just seal it back up so I can pick it up and give me a shout. I'll work with you to find the right coffee for your taste buds. We all have different palates and how we brew and even the water we use changes how coffee can taste. Roasting coffee as a work of passion means I just want you to really enjoy my coffee.

To the gentleman who purchased some Sulawesi I think it was for his wife, and we discussed mold in coffee, I wanted to make sure we're differentiating bulk commodity coffees vs's the specialty grade coffees I work with. And I'll offer a link to an article which also includes additional links to more information. Also, being a small single man shop, I personally inspect the green coffee I receive and measure for moisture before roasting besides working with small quantities during roasting which allows me a careful visual inspection of my coffees.

I encourage anyone who is interested in quality coffee and how the specialty coffee crowd work to keep the Q in quality to pause to read this while you enjoy a cup of my coffee. :D

It's almost time for the summer Willow Farmers Market. I'm looking forward to it and hope to be there every day this year. I'll have some customer favorites available as well as some new coffees for those that want to try something new. And I never know what I might pick up as summer starts up and new coffees become available.

I'm also going to get back to writing in the Blog and hope to get more conversations about coffee going in the community.

I haven't had this coffee in quite a while. Too long apparently. As a coffee roaster I'm always trying new things and drinking up the odds and ends at home. I forgot how good this Ugandan coffee is!

I don't like to rob my bags prepared for sale, but I decided I wanted to remind myself how this coffee tastes, so I opened a bag and brewed it in our 8 cup drip brewer. Delicious. Rich, chocolaty, moderately sweet but balanced. It's a full medium roast and I think bold enough without being smokey to satisfy dark roast fans too.

I'm promoting it but I think there's only 1 bag right now at CC's Skyfire Kitchen. They should have a pot brewed if you'd like to taste it. There are other coffees available there too. I'll be sure to roast some more of this soon and get them restocked with this Ugandan next week.
