Sweet friends, we have had many new followers and so many more people seeing our page lately, so I thought this would be a good time to reintroduce myself. 💛

My name is Kelly Mulder, and I am the owner of Kelly’s Sunshine Cafe, an online bakery and catering business built on a foundation of faith, love, and genuine care for others.

This little business has now been going strong for 5 years. Before Kelly’s Sunshine Cafe, I worked other jobs in the same industry but I reached a point where I knew God was leading me in a different direction. So I took a leap of faith and followed where He was calling me.

We started out doing vendor shows, and to our surprise and gratitude, we sold out at almost every one. That was one of the first little confirmations that maybe this dream God placed on my heart had room to grow. And grow it has.

I believe love is one of the most powerful gifts we can share — through kind words, thoughtful actions, meaningful connections, and sometimes through something homemade from the kitchen. Every cake, meal, and event I create is an opportunity to spread joy, offer encouragement, and remind people that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.

Kelly’s Sunshine Cafe currently operates online, and my hope for 2027 is to expand into a weekly pop-up location. That would give me even more opportunities to connect with our community, share baked goods and specialty items, and bring a little extra sunshine in person.

I am also passionate about giving back through local blessing boxes, donating food, and helping provide meals and pantry items to those in need within our community. For me, loving others means showing up, lending a helping hand, and supporting people wherever I can.

As this journey continues to unfold, I am following where God leads — through baking, teaching, writing, encouraging others, and hopefully reminding people to embrace who they are, lead with love, and let their own light shine.

I am so deeply grateful for the love, support, loyalty, encouragement, referrals, orders, shares, kind words, and prayers that have carried this little business over the last 5 years. Every person who has chosen us, remembered us, recommended us, or simply cheered us on has helped Kelly’s Sunshine Cafe continue to grow.

I stumbled across this farm last year. Beautiful place and delicious blueberries. Come check out this beautiful farm at their open house Thursday June 11, 2026 from 6 pm -8 pm. Kelly's Sunshine Cafe is providing the yummy appetizers. Can't wait to see you all there.

Join us June 11th for a Ribbon Cutting at Hidden River Farms, LLC along with Angier Chamber of Commerce! Networking will immediately follow the ceremony!

Sweet friends, I just wanted to clear up a little confusion and ease some hearts. 💛

As many of you know, 2026 is our last year for full-service catering, especially large weddings and bigger events. Kelly’s Sunshine Cafe is not going anywhere, but we are shifting back toward the bakery side of things.

Beginning in 2027, we will no longer offer full-service catering, table decorating, full event setup, or staffed events. Any food catering we accept will be limited to small drop-off orders only, for gatherings under 50 guests. We will still be offering our bakery items for larger events; we are just stepping away from the larger food catering side of things.

Honestly, I am not exactly sure what every part of 2027 will look like yet, but I do know the direction I am moving and the seeds I am planting. I trust that God is leading this next chapter and guiding each step.

It has truly touched my heart that so many of you have been worried and asking, “Who are we going to have cater now?” or “Where will we still be able to get your food and bakery items?” Thank you for trusting us, supporting us, referring to us, and allowing us to be part of so many beautiful family moments.

We are simply shifting, growing, and making room for the next beautiful chapter.

Our first ingredient will always be love.

We had the honor of celebrating so many accomplished, kind, loving graduates this past month, with even more celebrations to come this month.

It means the world to us that our customers continue to choose Kelly’s Sunshine Cafe for one family event after another.

Happy June, sweet friends. ☀️💛

Let this be a month of gentle reminders.

God loves each one of us more than we can comprehend. We are His Precious Children.
God lives within us — His power, His love, His grace, His forgiveness, His mercy, and His discernment. He is never far away from us. He does not leave us. When we feel disconnected, it is not because God has stopped loving us or has moved away. It is more likely because we have let the world become bigger than God We just need to quiet the noise, realign our hearts, and come back to His arms and His love

Corinthians 3:16
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”

Let this be a month of remembering that nothing can stop the goodness God has for you, He will not give to me what was meant for you. He will not give to you what he has meant for me.
There is no need for envy, jealousy, resentment, or comparison. His plan is personal, purposeful, and full of love.

Let this be a month of intentionally choosing love. Let us release chaos, judgment, bitterness, and anything that keeps us from walking in the light and love within us.

Choose kindness over strife.
Grace over judgment.
Peace over resentment.
Love over fear.

May June be a month of leaning into the beautiful light, love, and mercy that already lives within us.

What a beautiful day celebrating our local heroes. ❤️🤍💙

Our very first First Responders Luncheon had the best turnout, and our hearts are so full. Thank you to all of the Fire Departments who came out, along with the many EMS workers who joined us. It was truly our pleasure to serve and honor you.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, planned, volunteered, and gave their time to help make this event such a success. We could not have done it without each and every one of you.

We are getting so excited to serve and honor our local First Responders this Saturday, May 23rd, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM! 💛

Whether you are on duty or off duty, we would love for you to stop by and enjoy a meal as our way of saying thank you for all you do every single day for our communities.

Your families are welcome to join us, too! We’ll have some yummy food, sweet fellowship, and 3 amazing door prizes donated by our wonderful local businesses.
