This one is going to be a hard goodbye. π€
This week is one of our longest-standing employeesβ last weeks at 3 Beans, and Iβm not quite sure how to put into words what the last 5+ years have meant to me.
Because somewhere along the way, she stopped being βone of my employeesβ and became my family.
Iβve had the privilege of watching her grow from a high school girl into the woman, wife, and mama she is today. I was there for her first job, heartbreaks, hard lessons, big changes, and so many moments of growing up.
I was the first person she told when she found out she was pregnant with her first baby. π₯Ή Since then, Iβve watched her go through three pregnancies and become an incredible mama to three beautiful babies.
And one of the greatest honors of all was getting to stand beside her on her wedding day.
We actually lost her once before about three years ago when she left 3 Beans, and I was SO happy when life brought her back to us. So you can imagine how much I donβt want to let her go again.
But this time feels different. Itβs sad, but itβs also incredibly bittersweet.
When I look back at all these years, I donβt just think about shifts worked or coffees made. I think about the laughing until we cried, the stressful days, the conversations behind the counter, the life updates, the tears, the babies, the wedding, and all of the ordinary little moments in between that somehow became some of my favorite memories.
Itβs not often that you hire someone and, almost immediately realize theyβre going to be one of your very best friends. Itβs even more special when that person considers you their second mom. β€οΈ
I may be losing an employee this week, but Iβm not losing her.
She will forever be part of the 3 Beans family. She will forever have a place here. And most importantly, she will forever be one of my very best friends.
I am so unbelievably proud of the woman Iβve watched you become Miah, and getting a front-row seat to so many chapters of your life has been one of the greatest gifts this little coffee shop has ever given me.
Five years, three babies, a wedding, a million coffees, probably a few breakdowns, way too many laughs, and a whole lot of life laterβ¦ here we are. π₯Ή
I love you endlessly, and no matter where life takes you next, youβll always be one of ours. π€
Her LAST shift is this Thursday, from 6AM to 9AM. Come & see her and tell her βsee you later.β βοΈ
