The Willimantic Brewing Company is seeking a part-time/possible full-time, professional bartender with at least 3 years of full-service experience who can work hours that will include nights and weekends!
We are an in-house brewery that functions as a full-service bar and restaurant. We provide a casual atmosphere for locals, students, and traveling beer enthusiasts. We are extremely fast-paced, but hope to provide a relaxing experience for our guests. We have upwards of 35 ever-changing beers on tap, featuring our own handcrafted varieties, guest taps that support many other Connecticut breweries, and some old school classics as well. We have a full-service bar, so you would be responsible for the ex*****on of classic cocktails, modern favorites, and understanding the basics of wine. We also feature an extensive food menu that is available at the bar, making dining service experience part of your necessary qualifications.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• You should know beer basics: the difference between lagers and ales, ABV, what an IPA is, why a NEIPA is different, etc.
• Be confident and capable of making classic cocktails
• Possess the fundamental knowledge of bartending and mixology
• Be capable of working with Point-Of-Sales systems
• Ability to perform your job responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• You should be capable of maintaining a positive and helpful attitude while executing a multitude of tasks.
• Have a passion for engaging our guests and an ability to cultivate good customer relationships
• TIPS Certified (must complete within 3 months of hiring date if hired)
• You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• You must be willing to work a full-time schedule that will include weekends, some opening shifts, and some closing.
