SCHEDULE UPDATE!

Starting this week, the Elbow Room will be open 3 days a week: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the same hours.

This is me doing the short version of this announcement!

Now for the rambling part, which I will try to keep succinct:

In addition to training and maintenance work, I took this past week to look carefully at the business and how best to keep steering it through some challenging economic seas. Reducing the schedule was a VERY hard decision, and I didn't make it lightly.

The world is changing, and Elbow Room has always rolled with it — especially over the past several years. Costs, supply, logistics, regulations, unpredictability, and people's routines have all been in flux. I considered a few different options, and this one allows us to preserve the things that make Elbow Room what it is: our full menu, our variety of coffees, and the general vibes of being a place for people to gather — while keeping the business healthy and sustainable.

I'm both grateful and relieved that I still get to be your neighborhood coffee roaster and breakfast burrito slinger, and to keep providing this little "pop-up" café and kitchen space — even if it's now more of a long weekend than a daily driver.

And... now isn't "forever." There have been a lot of different iterations of Elbow Room over 23 years. I've invested nearly half my life in this project and this community, and I have learned that change is part of keeping it all going.

Hope everyone is soaking up these glorious late August days. We are closed this week to train staff and generally do a lot of behind the scenes housekeeping stuff.

I’ll announce the exact reopening date for next week soon and also post it on the website which is the best place to check in.

HEY!
So the building painting is still ongoing, with some weather and technical delays, which means our deck most likely won’t reopen this week. Sorry for the late notice, we really don’t know either from day to day! Stock up on coffee if you need it- last day is Saturday 8/15 and back in action next week!
