Some things become part of a family’s story without anyone even realizing it.

For nearly 80 years, folks have gathered around tables at Rod’s to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, first dates and countless ordinary Tuesday suppers that somehow became unforgettable memories.

One thing that’s been part of so many of those moments? These plates.

This little bread plate is part of the original collection you’ll still find throughout the restaurant today. Every now and then, a guest sees one and is instantly taken back to a meal they shared here years, even decades, ago.

We think there’s something mighty special about that.

As Rod’s celebrates 80 years this August, we’re reminded that a restaurant is about so much more than the food it’s served.

It’s about the people, the memories and the stories shared around the table.

Every evening around here has its own rhythm.

The grill gets hot. The kitchen gets to work. Drinks find their way to waiting tables, desserts are finished to order, and before long the dining room is full of conversations, celebrations and folks enjoying a good meal together.

It’s been that way for generations and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you haven’t spent an evening at Rod’s in a while, we’d sure be glad to see you.
