Now this here is a story worth tellin’🤎
61 years ago, a young cattleman brought a young gal through the doors of Rod’s Steak House for a special evenin’ together. He raised fine Hereford cattle, and truth be told, she’d already been promised elsewhere. She wasn’t altogether certain what her future held… but somewhere between the warm supper, cowboy charm, and the memories made that night at Rod’s, Diane knew in her heart he was the cowboy she’d been lookin’ for, and that this love was forever.
This year, those two sweet souls came back to Rod’s to celebrate 60 years of marriage in the very place where their story truly began.
To mark the occasion, we set their table with the original tablecloth from that special night all those years ago. They brought along treasured photographs of a life well-lived, family memories, their cattle, and stories from the trail they’ve walked together.
Our owner Tom made certain the evenin’ was one to remember, givin’ them a grand tour and pullin’ out all the stops. Before the night was through, they shared somethin’ mighty special with us, a rare Navajo Lukachkai Yei rug made for a harvest ceremony, a beautiful piece of history they wished to lend to Rod’s, now proudly hangin’ on our wall.
Some places hold memories. Others become part of the story. For over six decades, Rod’s has had the honor of bein’ just a small piece of theirs, and we reckon that’s somethin’ mighty special.
