A local business is struggling - not because they have a weak product, not because they don’t do good business, and not because they aren’t a part of the community. It’s because an out of state landlord has made their location uninhabitable and unsafe. Since they came to public square, Abide Coffeehouse has provided an incredible space for our community and became a bright hope for a thriving pedestrian public square. There isn’t a day where Abide doesn’t have a social meet up going on - perhaps a trivia night or a crochet hang or an open mic. They are constantly giving back and making it possible for everyone to maintain dignity by paying it forward and never refusing service, even if you can’t afford it that day. We need more businesses like this in our area and we certainly can’t let the one we have get run out by bad development and local government who should be protecting our small businesses from bad landlords. Let’s rally for Abide Coffeehouse - together we can keep this incredible community glue in tact.

Some people may wonder, what does Jess and Todd do when they’re not cooking or corralling a house full of dogs… well whenever possible we’re supporting our incredibly talented friends! Come hang out with me and the powerhouse that is Estella Sweet and celebrate 20 years of her fearless existence! We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we will roast this queen of queens. So excited for the location hosts, Rodano’s, who will be providing food and their incredible space for such revelry. I’m slightly jealous we couldn’t house such an extravaganza. And (cherry on this sundae) it’s from 2-5 so we’ll be home in jam jams before the sun goes down. My kinda Sunday Funday! Hope to see you there!

Got these pretty but quite large zukes from a friend’s hyperactive garden. So I’m treating them like an eggplant and serving them parmigiana style over a tomato basil risotto. I sold one yesterday, forgot to snap a photo of the dish, but the guest said it was fabulous!
