OUR BASS PLAYER🎸 KENTON
"Kenton, whatever God's plans are for your life, it won't require you to have any musical skills." That's what my family used to say. To be fair, they were well justified: I couldn't sing, couldn't dance, had no rhythm, I was even tone deaf.
And then one day that suddenly changed. Singing along in the car, I dropped that high tenor line down the octave and sang in tune a bass line. Ever since then, I've been obsessed with music, specifically bass.
I started out singing bass in a youth A Capella group. Then I wanted to start learning to play an instrument, and since I loved singing bass, I chose to play bass too. I also play upright bass, as well as guitar, piano, cello, and a little bit of violin.
My musical journey has put me in various bands from various styles: pit band for theater, pep band for college football, various gigs in secular settings, and most importantly, playing bass at church. I have also recorded and published a few albums on Spotify, which has even included an original symphony, and am in works for another release in the following few months.
God certainly moves in mysterious ways.
