Dear Customers and Friends

I started Kookaburra Coffee in a mobile trailer in 2017 and was so excited to move into the location you all know and have supported since December of 2019. Of course we all know what happened in 2020. I was so proud to be able to keep the business alive through the pandemic and all the supply and staffing issues that followed. Unfortunately kookaburra is still barely breaking even most months and losing money some months.

I own a multi-state service company that I started in May of 2014 that has really taken off. It’s always been my full time “job” and the profits from that business is how I was able to keep kookaburra open. Unfortunately I’ve had to rely mostly on my staff to run kookaburra with very little time of my own available to spend there the last couple of years. The decline in customer service and efficiency has been really difficult to solve without being there every day.

I appreciate all of my staff and all of you who have supported us throughout everything. Our manager is moving to another job and we’re traveling for the next several weeks and I just have no way to resolve the staffing issue before we leave.

Our daughter was recently diagnosed with autism and we don’t have any family here or a support system and we’re just so incredibly overwhelmed on a personal level.

Unfortunately this means we’re closing kookaburra as of this Wednesday at close of business. We don’t know if it will stay closed yet or if we will restaff and reopen in the coming months.

I encourage everyone to use your gift cards if you have them between now and Wednesday in case we aren’t able to re-open it.

I hope you all can understand and I’m sorry for having to make this decision. It is absolutely heartbreaking for me. I spent the last 5 years dumping my heart and soul into it. I really tried to make it into something wonderful to share and I’m devastated to close it.

If you have booked a private event with us please contact me. Our lease isn’t up until December and it’s possible we will still be able to accommodate you. If not you will receive a full refund.

Sorry friends! A neighboring business flooded and it also flooded our entire kitchen. We are working off a limited menu for an unknown amount of time whike repairs are underway. Please enjoy our limited menu.
