To all our loyal gabels customers. We have come to the end of our lease at 1215 w Pawnee. Our building is run down, equipment worn out, and to be honest after 45 years as the owner/manager of a restaurant Craig is a little tired. We will be closing our store Sunday July 21st at 2 pm. There is a slight possibility we may be able to renegotiate our lease rebrand and reopen in September. But honestly considering the fact that when Craig started gabels at Harry and emporia in 1989 there were 320,000 people and 250 restaurants, now there are 380,000 (20% increase) and 1050 restaurants (400% increase) the market is way over saturated makes the future for independent restaurants extremely bleak. Thank you for the memories and the time you have shared with us. Craig, Teresa , family and employees.
