Established in 1982 by Pietro DeFazio, DeFazio’s Italian Restaurant has become the Italian eatery of choice by locals who appreciate homestyle southern Italian food. We grind our own sausage, bake bread fresh daily and just like Mama, make all our sauces from scratch. At DeFazio’s we believe our restaurant isn’t just about enjoying a meal it is about connecting with friends and family. We are about serving tradition and inviting everyone to share a meal around the DeFazio family table.

Thank you to all the wonderful customers who came out yesterday. We were so surprised to see a line around the building! We really felt the love and support from everyone and all we can say is we feel truly grateful. Thank you Wichita for a great 40 years.

We will be selling the following items for carryout at the restaurant today. All items will be refrigerated or frozen, nothing will be sold hot. More items may be added to this list. Come in early as all quantities are limited. This will also give patrons the opportunity to use their gift cards or be reimbursed the balance on their cards.

It's a sad day for the DeFazio family. One month into our 40th year in business, I’ve had to make the hard decision to permanently close DeFazio’s Restaurant effective immediately. Due to issues with staffing and my declining health problems that impact my ability to work, I’ve decided to retire. Closing a viable business, that Janet and I started in 1982 is the hardest decision that I’ve had to make, and is one that I don’t take lightly, but the time has come.

I want to thank all the wonderful customers and employees from over the years…the generations of families who came into DeFazio’s every week, who had first dates and proposals at the restaurant, who celebrated every birthday or anniversary with us, or ordered carryout pizza from us every Friday night, wow, what loyalty. It’s been a pleasure serving all of you a tasty, quality Italian meal.

Starting today we have new temporary hours. We will be open Thursday-Sunday 11am-8pm, closed Monday-Wednesday. That means we are closed today, Wednesday, September 8.

We’ve had a hard time bouncing back during the pandemic and we are still short staffed. We appreciate everyone’s support and continued patronage in spite of these ups and downs.

We are still hiring for a variety of positions. If you or anyone you know is interested in applying, please apply in person at the restaurant.

WE ARE OPEN! There has been some confusion recently and some people thought that we were closed, but we are still open and serving all of your favorites for dine-in and carryout!

We have had some difficult times recently with staffing, but we are pushing through and you can expect good things from us as always! We are still hiring for a variety of positions, front and back of house, including bussers, cooks, dishwashers, and servers. You can apply in person at the restaurant. Please share with anyone who might be interested!
