Well, it’s Thursday friends and we’re still under the boil water advisory. We’re hoping to get the all clear this afternoon and be able to open on Friday for lunch. 🤞I’ll update again tomorrow, thank for you understanding. ☮️❤️🍔

When Ty’s was in its late teenage years in terms of existence, BG Products, Inc. was formed. We both grew in our own ways, Ty’s formed into the restaurant you know and love today, and BG decided to show us up by becoming a major distributor worldwide with the best intentions of making your vehicle run longer. They rock at that by the way. What we have in common is that we are both proud to call Wichita home. We have a lot of BG employees come in for lunch, and at one point we’d told them we needed a sign for the booth they always seemed to end up sitting at. Today Tomás García came in with his daughter and she presented me with this beautiful painting. I’m still in awe with how amazing this turned out. She is so talented! We can’t wait to get this beauty hung up at the diner!

Good morning friends-
We will be closed today so Matt can finish up his (indoor for the most part, thank goodness) campout with his youngest kiddos. It’s their first Boy Scout camping trip and I hope they make memories that last a lifetime! We’ll be back at it tomorrow, Wednesday, July 29th. See ya then!

A lot of the Wichita community knew Pat Woodard. You may have known him from his boat racing days, his love of the Maize community, or you might have been lucky enough to have an encounter or two with him here at Ty’s. Pat and his partner Jo (lord knows the reaction you’d get if you accidentally called her his wife 😂). Pat decided a couple of years ago that he liked coming to eat at our diner, and quickly became a regular. He meticulously sat at different booths and found the booth he liked the most (after me made me shut off the ceiling fan above it 🤣) and from that time on it was theirs. They’d call ahead and let us know they were coming, and we’d make sure it was ready for them. They were there most Tuesdays, I always asked him how his weekend was. His response? “Never had a bad one.” This is a man who faithfully served his country as a marine, and saw things most of us would never dream of. His outlook on life was one we should all strive for. Pat passed away while we were on vacation. His memory will live on, and he’ll always have a booth at the diner. Here’s a toast to an amazing man, and may we all strive to never have a bad weekend. ❤️
