Part 1:

Herbal blending is more than putting herbs together because they taste good. 🌿 Understanding their actions, energetics, interactions, and when to use—or avoid—them matters. Work with an herbalist or someone intentionally studying the plants.

A little market setup behind the scenes 🌿🫖

Tried out the new table extensions today… emphasis on tried 😂 One of the steel screws was bent, so we didn’t try them out last market. Looking forward to this Saturday and setting up in much cooler weather! Did someone say, bring out the Fall blends?! 🍂

Market life = set it up, figure it out, keep it moving. 😂

One thing y’all LOVED at Tea Fest? The botanical refreshers. 🌿🫖✨

And that’s something I want to keep exploring with Planted—ways to make herbs fun, approachable AND delicious.

But here’s the other side of herbalism: some herbs just don’t taste good. 😂 They’re bitter. Strong. Sometimes they taste straight-up like medicine.

Because… they are medicine. Plant medicine. 🌿

And part of what I want to share through Planted is how to actually USE these herbs—not just buy a tea blend. Many of the herbs I work with can be purchased individually, kept in your own herbal cabinet and steeped when you or your family need them.

That’s what we dig into during workshops: learning the herbs, their properties and how to turn them into teas, infusions and traditional herbal preparations.

I’ve even been thinking about making a few of my own herbal remedies and sharing them with you… 👀🌿

Until then, come make one WITH me!

🔥 Fire C***r Workshop — October 3
We’ll make this traditional herbal preparation together and talk about the herbs commonly used to support the body during cold + flu season.

When we think about the energetics of a blend, we have to first learn the herbs. 🌿

Are they warming or cooling? Moistening or drying? Relaxing, constricting, or nourishing?

Understanding how herbs interact with the body helps us move beyond simply mixing ingredients—and start building blends with intention. 🫖

Learn the herbs. Understand their energetics. Then build the blend.

Midwest views & a cup of tea. 🌻🫖

This has only happened once… maybe twice 😂

“Is this matcha?”

“No, we have herbs and loose-leaf teas!”

“Oh.” 🚶🏾‍♀️💨

I respect knowing what you came for though 😂😂

Maybe one day we’ll add matcha to the lineup, but for now… drink your herbs 🌿🫖
