Eva’s Chocolate Cake sold out pretty quickly last time, and she’s making more. It’ll be back tomorrow.

Eva really wanted to make a cake. So we let her make a cake. 😂🍫

Meet Eva’s Chocolate Cake.

6 layers of chocolate cake with decadent chocolate ganache between every layer, more ganache on top, and mini chocolate chips.

And yes, it’s gluten-free.

For now, this is a test run. We only made a limited amount, and slices are $8 each.

If you guys love it, Eva gets her way and we keep making cake. 😂

10,000. 🎉

I’ve been watching that number get closer and closer, and today we finally hit it.

Here’s something that puts that number into perspective:

10,000 people is roughly the equivalent of 1 out of every 40 people in Wichita following our little family-owned dessert shop at Oliver & Kellogg.

That’s crazy to me.

Some of you have been here since the EXTRAordinary Cheesecakes days. Some of you found us today. 😂 Either way, thank you for following along, sharing our stuff, telling your friends about us and helping us grow this little shop.

And I promised we’d celebrate.

When we started this little dessert shop, 10,000 people following along seemed like a ridiculous number. Now we can practically touch it.

So we’re making one last push.

I’ve had quite a few people ask me the same question lately.

“Are you nervous about Cheesecake Factory opening?”

In 10 days, Wichita is getting one.

And no, we’re not nervous. 😂

Honestly, we’re here for it.

Wichita is about to have a whole lot more people talking about cheesecake, comparing cheesecake and probably standing in line for cheesecake.

Just do us a favor and remember there’s a little family-owned shop at Oliver and Kellogg that’s been making New York-style cheesecake from scratch this whole time.

No 200-item menu.

We pretty much just obsess over dessert.

And we’re pretty good at that part. 😏

Well, we’re still under a boil water advisory.

Luckily, when it comes to dessert, cream is our liquid of choice. And no, we will absolutely not be boiling the ice cream. 😂

XO desserts is still open today, and we are following all necessary safety precautions during the boil water advisory. The ice cream is frozen, the cheesecakes are chilled, and we will be here until 9:00.

FUN FACT FRIDAY:

The Fluffernutter started as a sandwich, and it had a much more serious name.

In 1918, Emma Curtis of Melrose, Massachusetts published a recipe combining peanut butter and marshmallow creme on oat or barley bread. It was during World War I, so she called it the “Liberty Sandwich.”

More than 40 years later, an advertising agency looked at peanut butter and marshmallow and decided it needed a name that was a lot more fun. “Fluffernutter” was born.

We took that classic New England sandwich combination, skipped the bread, and turned it into a peanut butter and marshmallow cheesecake with peanut butter drizzle, marshmallow drizzle, and marshmallows on top.

A hundred and eight years later, we hope Emma would approve.
