Finally got the chance to see what all the fuss was about at Station 8 BBQ !!!
We went around 1 p.m. Saturday (scorching hot outside) and there was a bit of a line, but they had a muscian playing the harmonica, and an ice chest full of cold bottles of water outside while everyone waited. The line moved at a surprising pace.
Miss Ali's favorites were the molasses burnt ends, pulled pork, ribs, and smoked mac. The smoked mac was incredibly creamy and made with what seemed to be a fancy shell pasta and was very delicious. I ordered a plate with every meat on the menu!!! My favorites were the burnt ends, steamship round, and brisket—in that order. I also thought the ribs and pulled pork were really good too, but I'm not normally a rib eater or a pulled pork connoisseur so I didn't have much of an opinion on them. I did make the comment that I liked the fact that the ribs were untrimmed, and if I eat ribs, that's how I like them.
The sauces were excellent too, and they all pair well with the BBQ style.
Their specialty drink today was a blood orange lemonade with pureed dark cherries. It was perfectly balanced and it was soooo good! We both loved it.
The overall atmosphere was great, and the energy from the staff was off the charts despite being less than an hour from closing.
The experience definitely lived up to the hype and was worth the wait. I also thought the prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back!
