I don’t even know where to begin.
Yesterday, Bee’s Rolled Ice Cream won Best Dessert at the Food Truck Championship of Texas, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.
This business has been such a huge part of my life, and to receive an award like this means more than I can put into words.
What makes it especially meaningful is that the flavor that won wasn’t just something I threw together on the cold plate. The winning flavor was my Mexican Hot Chocolate, made from a housemade chocolate sweet cream base that I create from scratch with natural cinnamon flavoring with mini marshmallows. Every flavor I serve starts with recipes I’ve developed and worked on over time, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
A lot of people see rolled ice cream and think it’s all about the rolling, but there is so much that goes into creating the actual ice cream itself. The bases, flavors, and recipes are where the magic starts. (Not from bags or cartons of premixes)
Just a few weeks ago, I finished high school and graduated with my advanced welding certificate from Vernon College. Looking back, it’s hard to believe that a business I started while I was still a student would grow into something that could compete with so many incredible vendors from across Texas and be recognized with an award like this.
I couldn’t have done any of it without my family, friends, customers, and everyone who has supported me along the way. Whether you’ve bought a cup of ice cream, shared a post, booked us for an event, or simply cheered me on, thank you.
Thank you for believing in me, supporting a young entrepreneur, and helping make this dream possible.
I am incredibly grateful, humbled, and excited for what comes next.
