Figaretti's was established in 1948 by the family's Sicilian descendants. The restaurant is owned by the third generation of the family, Dino Figaretti. Tony Figaretti, Sr., grandson of Italian immigrants, father Giuseppe and grandmother Anna came to the United States from Sicily. Settling first in Clarksburg, where Giuseppe found work in a coal mine. Around 1944, Anna started making spaghetti sauce for her neighbors. People in Elm Grove liked the sauce so much, they started buying it. She worked out of a little garage next to her home, and sauce got so popular that each of Anna's five sons started helping her with the production, and delivery, to local grocery stores which soon lead to the opening of Figaretti's restaurant. Currently owned by the third generation of the family, Dino Figaretti who still resides in Wheeling, West Virginia with his wife Michelle and son Enzio. Lunch doesn’t have to be the meal you settle for between breakfast and dinner.

Saucy, comforting, and actually worth looking forward to—that sounds more like our kind of midday break. Stop into Figaretti’s and make lunch feel a little less like another item on the day’s to-do list.

Some things change with the years. The importance of a really good sauce isn’t one of them.

Figaretti’s has been part of family dinners, date nights, celebrations, and “I’ve been craving this all week” dinners for generations. Our scratch-made approach is a big reason why.

But sometimes you want something crisp, fresh, and loaded with enough good stuff that calling it “just a salad” doesn’t seem fair.

September starts bringing those evenings when a hot bowl of soup suddenly sounds really good again.

Ours are made with the same philosophy we bring to the rest of the menu: start with good ingredients, make it with care, and don’t rush what’s worth doing right. Add some bread and settle in. Sometimes the simplest meals are the ones that hit the spot.

Great food matters—of course it does. But hearing that someone felt welcomed, taken care of, and got that unmistakable family restaurant feel? That’s what we want Figaretti’s to be.
