A little update ❤️

I want to thank everyone who has donated, shared, and continued to support the possibility of bringing our Smokehouse back.

From the beginning, I made a promise to myself that I would not spend the money raised unless we reached a level that made reopening financially realistic. That hasn’t changed.

I’m going to leave the fundraiser open through October 31st and give this one final push. At that point, I’ll make the decision based on where we stand. If we haven’t raised enough to responsibly reopen, I intend to close the campaign and return the funds raised.

I would rather return every dollar than use your generosity to start something that isn’t adequately funded.

To our amazing community,
It breaks our hearts to write this, but due to an unexpected and difficult situation beyond our control, The Roasted Breadfruit Smokehouse has had to temporarily close its doors. We are currently navigating a really tough hurdle to get our family business back on stable ground, but our dream isn’t over.

Our goal is to overcome this chapter and reopen bigger, better, and ready to serve you all again by mid-next year. To make that happen, we need your help.

Today we officially launched our GoFundMe to help us build a smaller, smarter and stronger Smokehouse.

We can’t promise where this journey will end — but we can promise that we’re going to give it everything we’ve got.

It is with heavy hearts that we formally announce the closure of Roasted Breadfruit as of August 3, 2026.

This chapter came to an end much more suddenly than we anticipated. While there have been circumstances behind the scenes that we have chosen to keep private, we felt ‘it’s time’ to make this announcement.

Most importantly, we want to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who walked through our doors, ordered takeout or catering, celebrated with us, recommended us, shared our posts, and returned again and again. Many of you became familiar faces and friends, and you were truly the heart of Roasted Breadfruit.

We are incredibly proud of what we created and deeply grateful to our customers, community, and staff who were part of this journey.

Although the doors at this location have closed, we aren’t quite ready to say goodbye forever.
