People have great expectation about people like my family. The way we live, the way we make our food and the service that we provided. Where we came from, there ain’t much choice for us to make it happens in certain ways. We have to fight against many big restaurants and competiton outthere through out many years. In other to have the name Mai Phung to stay on Newland Street to serve it’s customer. Our story is not that great, though. We came from a corrupted country,Vietnam, then moved to the States on the late 2005s. Back then, we used to lived in a small condo located right in the center of Saigon. Hell of a place, it is the busiest city that will never sleep. Bad things is people are not that well-educated, though. So then, there were many ugly scenes that you probaly not being able to find in America. However, after 1975, our mom started to become a chef, and she opened a small food stand on the sidewalk of the street. The address of the food stand is 1/1 Nguyễn Trung Trực, District 1, Saigon. In addition to that, our mom had picked up so many skills along the way in her career. That is the reason why our foods at Mai Phung tasted so excellent. Because our mom had been doing it for more than 30 years; therefore, there should be no doubt about her talented. God built her to last long, too. She is the most hardest worker we ever met in our life. She came to the Restaurant at 7:00 am to cook the food, and stayed there until 12:00 am. During the business hour, she almost had no time for water break, no subs, no timeout. But, we still can see the bright smile on her face. Deep down inside our heart, we all known she loved to cook good food, and CULINARY ART is her sport. We almost forgot to metion her name. That lovely lady name is Mai Dang. Before we can open this restaurant, our mom and dad had to worked hard everyday, in other to be abale to saved up the intial budget to start the Restaurant. In the first two years in the States, Our dad had to do construction job for private booker, while our mom had to cooked food for nail shops and Người Việt newspaper. Right about the time we ready to open the restaurant on the mid 2008s, with a lot of help from our auntie, Khánh Liên, we called her “ cô Khánh Liên” with all the respect. Without her, our family probaly not being able to make it happens. She is like Dr.Dre, and we are Eminem, just waited to be sign the contact; in other for us to show the world our talented. As those of you who had been our greatest fan for the past 5 years, you all known that the orignial name of our place was Long Phong instead of Mai Phung. But, on the early 2012s. Our family had decided to changed the name to Mai Phung, in the respect of honoring our mom first name. Back to the present time, we would like to reintroduce ourselves to our customers by open an account on Yelp. We would like to hear all the feed back from you guys, those who have been supporting us for a long time. Not going to argue about the price though, We notice that our price are a bit higher than other places. But, at the end it is worth it to pay for that price, to get a delicious quality meal. Other than that, we would like to hear from you guys about our services, and the quality of our food. P/S: please watch your demeanor on the comment or mailbox.
