The Harvest Diner was a dream that was started by the Savva family almost thirty years ago. After the family migrated from the small Mediterranean Island of Cyprus they worked in local diners to help support their family and at the same time gain the knowledge and experience needed to open their own. Once the oldest child out of five graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, the Savva’s dr

eam to have their own restaurant became a reality in January 1980. They opened a restaurant where they could provide the same good food they would extend to family and friends visiting their home. In the early eighties, with young families of their own, the Savva’s decided to gear their restaurant to families with children. Serving good food with generous portions, reasonable prices and a wholesome environment where families with children are welcomed is something they pride themselves on. For three decades and three generations the Harvest has watched you, your children and your grandchildren grow up with them. ”The family that eats together stays together.”

Recently renovated, the Harvest wraps you in the warmth of old world Tuscany. A rustic wall, exposed bricks, painted murals adds to the ambiance. It is a great place to hang out and grab a great meal or have a drink with friends. Famous for its homemade fresh garden ingredient omelettes, homemade “Angus” hamburgers and steaks, fresh seafood, succulent salads, “Cypriot style Souvlaki” the Harvest guarantees you will never leave hungry. For late night snacks enjoy the non processed all white meat breaded chicken fingers, signature homemade onion rings, or delicious homemade soups like the succulent velvety texture cream of tomato soup and hearty broth style Manhattan Clam chowder. Looking to hold a business functions or celebrate a shower, birthday party, family reunion, christening, anniversary or retirement, let us help. This is a wonderful place to celebrate with family, dine out with friends or just enjoy a delicious meal with your special someone. The Harvest offers a special breakfast, lunch, dinner and children’s menu. Do not forget to finish a meal with one of its delicious desserts, famous homemade rice pudding, ice cream, freshly ground coffee, cappuccino or latte. A unique full service bar, specializing in martinis and margaritas’, is second to none and a must see.

Today the Savva family lost the patriarch of our family, Stylianos, aka Steve aka Ba aka Pappou aka Big Big Pappou. God called him up to heaven to join his beloved wife, Paraskevi, who died seven short months ago. Many of you will remember him greeting you at the Harvest Diner with his famous greeting, “hello my friend.” He loved the dinner and all his customers. He was a proud man; proud of his family, proud of his grandchildren and blessed with 17 great grandchildren. He never feared anything or anyone. This was a trait he taught his children. He never let the odds against him defeat him. He persevered with strength and faith. His Faith was his foundation. He was never a man to mince words and often had no filters. He said what he wanted to say. He wanted perfection and expected perfection. He was a man with a hearty laugh and a big smile. He had what the Greeks called philodimo. Generous and friends to all and while he may have not been rich in the true meaning of the word his was rich in pride, family, and faith.

Dear friends of the Harvest Diner,
As you are all aware the Harvest suffered a devastating fire in September 2019. We are trying to settle this heart wrenching ordeal but between red tape, Covid and other unforeseen circumstances it has been a laborious process. We thank you for your kindness, well wishes and prayers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused the community. We would never want to harm the community that has welcomed us and supported us for 40 years. It is our fervent hope and prayer to resolve this sooner rather then later. We ask for your continued understanding and promise to try to resolve some of your concerns to the best of our ability.

Dear friends of the Harvest Diner,
Today the Harvest suffered another loss. We loss the matriarch of our family, Paraskevi Savva, belove wife of Steve, mother of Charlie, Stavros, Martha, Savvas and George. Perhaps many of our life long customers will remember her taking cash during our early years in business. She served as an inspiration to us all. Loving, caring, faithful and generous. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. We will forever miss her! May she Rest In Peace and her memory be eternal!

Good afternoon Harvest family:
Hoping you are all well and safe during these difficult times. We truly miss each and everyone of you. We so enjoyed beginning our day drinking coffee with you and ending our day shooting the breeze with your families. You were all part of our extended family and our family and staff enjoyed the moments we shared.

With that being said it saddens us to say that the Harvest family has lost one of its dedicated employees today. Affectionately known as Mary D, has passed away today. Mary has been with the Harvest for more than 30 years. Every morning Mary would leave her home at 5 am to take a bus to get to work by 6am. Never late and rarely taking a day off. She was a spitfire and held her own against our younger staff. Mary was a unique person: one minute smiling and laughing and the next minute yelling if staff didn’t clean and fill up their stations. Age was no barrier for Mary. She endured a difficult life but never gave up.

Today Mary is united with her beloved son Michael. We will miss Mary and pray that her memory be eternal forever. Rest In Peace Mary. We love you!

We ask that if you can visit a Go Fund Page created by Mary’s family to help offset funeral expenses.

Wishing our dear friends a Blessed Thanksgiving. We miss you all and thank you all for your prayers and support!

Dear friends of the Harvest Diner. Today is a very sad day for our family. As many of you know through Facebook and the news media outlets we have suffered a devastating fire. We are grateful that no one was hurt and we are eternally grateful to all the firefighters and companies who valiantly tried to save diner. For 40 years we have been serving the community of Westbury. We have watched your children and grandchildren grow up in our diner as you have watched our children and now our grandchildren. We are so grateful to all of you. It would be remiss of us not to acknowledge our amazing staff and their dedication. You are all part of our extended family. The next few weeks and months will be trying for our family. We ask you all to keep us in your prayers and we in turn will keep you in ours. We love you all and hope we can be together once again soon.
