From Kansas City, we pointed the truck toward Tennessee—but first, Nashville! We handled the glamorous part of competition life… laundry. 😂 Then we headed into the city with our friends Scott and Lindsay and had one hell of a rock ’n’ roll night! Music, laughs, and pictures with Jack at all the bars. Nashville did not disappoint! 🤘🥃
Then it was on to Lynchburg for our special Jack gear from the hardware store, Champions Dinner with our good friend Bill Gillespie as head chef, barrelhead signatures, the team parade, and Dinner on the Hill—all made even better by catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. ❤️
Then it was time to prep—for the contest AND the incoming weather. We left Maine in a nor’easter, so apparently we needed a tropical depression to finish the adventure. 🤦♀️😂
And competition day gave us a memory we’ll never forget…
**2ND PLACE BRISKET WITH A PERFECT SCORE AT THE JACK!!** 🥈🔥
Chad knocked that brisket out of the park! Hearing Humphrey’s BBQ called on that stage was unreal. What a moment to bring home to Maine!
Thank you to Royal Oak, Hilltop Boilers, The Barbecue Store, Simply Marvelous, Thigh Life, all our fuel sponsors, and everyone following along and cheering us on. You helped make this adventure possible, and we’re so grateful. ❤️
Now we’re homeward bound—with full hearts, tired feet, and somehow MORE laundry. 😂
