The Art of Kimono Fashion event on Saturday May 18!
We just returned from a fabulous month in Japan visiting friends and family. I visited the Kibibi Museum in Kurashiki Bikan area, where my husband had two concerts with Ms. Miho Yamaji, a fabulous koto player. Later I went to see Ms. Tokitomo in Misaki City, Okayama and took a private lesson in plant fabric dye.
On the returning trip to Kurashiki, I had the pleasure in re-visiting with Ms. Yoshida at Kibibi. She and Ms. Yamada, the owner of the museum, have a collection of beautiful clothing made from vintage kimono fabric. The quality of the selection was outstanding; I brought back a sampling of "Yoimachi Select" clothing from there.
I would like to invite you to join us for our Art of Kimono Fashion event on Saturday May 18, 10am-3pm. It is featuring vintage Kimono, obi, "Yoimachi Select" clothing made from recycled kimono fabric, as well as vintage tea related items. Join us in conversation while we enjoy all the special kimono fabrics and products on sale.
