05/17/25 I wanted to share a conversation I had with Kaleigh Marie, the other day. I hope you enjoy.

Me-- > "I got your update posted. Great job! I am proud of you!"

Kaleigh--> "That really means a lot to me. I know I have some big shoes to fill and it is hard trying to be a mom to three kids and run a business but anything I can do to help take the stress off grandma, I will always do. She is my very best friend and I’d be lost without her."

Me--> "You have made it a lot better on all of us. doing this with 3 kids and all is awesome. You are stepping up when needed to. We are all proud of you!"

Kaleigh --> "Thank you! I couldn’t do it without learning what true strength is though. I’ve learned from each of you that we need to be a team and keep fighting and working together. This whole situation has been so anxiety provoking but every time I walk into the diner, it just feels like home and even without grandma there, I just keep hearing her voice in my head saying you can do it Kaleigh I know you can."

The family is so proud of her. We hope you are too.

05/16/25 "Shyrl update of the day: SHE IS HOME! After a long week of poking, procedures, and not a lot of uninterrupted sleep, she finally made it home a bit ago. She looks great and says she feels good, too! Now let’s see how long we can keep her at home…
Shyrl's Diner will be open tomorrow. Deb, Chantel, and I plan to get there at 5 and will open the doors shortly after. (Stefani will be along when she gets around to it 😉)We plan to be open until 2 pm as normal. We look forward to seeing you all!

05/15/25 "Update of the day: Although Shyrl was hopeful to go home today, that was not able to happen. To be sure her new medications are all in order, the doctor decided to keep her one more day. Today was the first day she was able to eat more than just dinner. She is tired and bored but all in all she’s in good spirits and is looking better everyday.
Shyrl's Diner will be open tomorrow from 6 am-2 pm (hopefully!) Our nurse in training is headed back to the kitchen to come help us cook tomorrow and Saturday. Can’t wait to see you, Tiff (Stefani)! Let the dream team commence!

05/14/25 "Shyrl’s daily update: Shyrl had two stents put in this afternoon. I went to visit her this evening and she was back in her room, finally eating a meal, and in good spirits! The hope is that if everything goes well for her tonight, she will be able to go home tomorrow! 🤞🏻 She will still be out of work for a couple of weeks but we are slowly moving in the right direction.
As for Shyrl's Diner: we will be opening tomorrow morning at 6 am. Most likely closing at noon due to our cook still being on ‘light duty’ herself (thank you, Donna!) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we will be fully staffed (minus Shyrl, of course) but will be open until our normal 2 pm. As always, thank you for all the love, concern, and support! Thankful for each and every one of you 🤍 "

05/13/25 "Hey everybody! Not too much of an update today. Shyrl did have her cardiac catheter procedure done today and they did find a blockage. She is going to have to have another procedure done tomorrow but we are waiting to hear on the doctor to see exactly what it is they will be doing. We know at this point she will be out of work for at least the next 2-3 weeks. Will update again when we know more.
As far as the diner goes, we plan to be open tomorrow Wednesday 5/14 at 5 am and depending on how busy it is with the staffing situation, we will be open until at least noon. Thank you as always for all of your love and support. We couldn’t do it without you all. ❤️" - Kaleigh Marie

05/12/25 "Most up to date Shyrl update for all of you asking: Shyrl finally got transferred to DHMC this afternoon. She was told that dinner would be her last meal as she’s on the schedule to have her procedure done tomorrow, finally. She is more than ready to be home at this point.
I apologize I have not been able to return each individual message as I have been busy trying to spend time with my Grammy and family, be a mom, and keep the restaurant running smoothly and maybe sleep a bit 🤏🏻Its pretty tough to have a Grammy that’s a local celebrity (😉) buttt still appreciate all of the concern, love, and support from our dearest friends and family. As I’ve said before, our village is truly the best and we are the lucky ones 🩷
As of right now, Shyrl's Diner plans to be open Wednesday 5/14 from 5am-2pm. Thank you again to Chantel and Donna for coming in to play today!

05/11/25 "Wishing a happy Mother’s Day to my mommy and my grammy and all the other moms out there! We are lucky to have been blessed with the best! 🩷

Although Mother’s Day isn’t looking quite like what we had in mind, we’re going to make the best of it. ‘Thank you’ truly isn’t even enough to express all of the love, care, and concern our family has received over the last 24 hours.
