THE STORY OF HOW HOLLY’S TAKE 2 BEGAN…
You might wanna sit down for this 🙂
I was getting my car fixed, where Terry worked, and overheard her talking about getting a food truck. She asked me if I was interested and I said, “I’m In!” We searched and priced out trucks, but the startup and cost to make the perfect truck was just not for us.
A couple weeks went by and Terry asked me, “Would you ever consider going back into a full-fledged business?” Of course I was curious and said, “Whatcha Got?”
So we looked into a restaurant/bar in Sandwich. We totally thought it was a go! We spent many nights sitting at the bar that was closed, planning and going over life, excited for what was to come. We thought it was a sure thing until we found out there was a loan on the liquor license, so it ended up being a no-go.
After both of us being so disappointed, another couple weeks went by and I got another text from Terry:
“I know what our next business venture is gonna be.”
She sent me the post that Holly’s was closing for good.
I’m not going to lie—I was a bit hesitant at first… but then I realized what an awesome opportunity to incorporate both of our families together and bring Holly’s Deli back to LIFE!
Our paths met over a simple car fix. We bonded together over the losses in life we have both experienced. We wanted more for the community and our families.
So here we are… partners and friends.
For those of you who have made it to the end of my short novel without napping… Ahhhahaaaaa…
I will let Terry have a moment to explain our “TRIBUTE WALL” that is in progress, and what it means to us!!!
Hey guys, Terry here, so I need to back up a little bit to explain a couple of things. One of the nights, Holly and I were sitting at the bar, we came up with a name for it. We were going to call it Tribute. The name came from a conversation that we had one night, actually it was early one morning, about all the people we have lost. I lost my husband last year.
Holly lost her sister, cousin, Aunt and her father-in-law. So the name Tribute was something we wanted to incorporate into any business we ended up doing together, but the hero in this story is my son . He saw that Holly's was closing and said to me, are you up for it? I was texting Holly before he finished the sentence. He purchased the business, handed me the key and said you and Holly are partners, have fun. There are no words for this gift, for this second chance for both our families to honor the people here with us and the ones we miss so very much by doing what we love. Now back to the wall. When we first walked into Holly's, I saw the open wall and said to her, can this be our tribute wall? She said absolutely, design it the way you want. The right side of the wall underneath the Holly's Deli sign will be a tribute from both our families to the people that we have loved and lost. The left side of the wall will be for our customers to pay tribute to anyone that they have lost and want remembered. Holly and my paths crossed for a reason. We both wanted to do something that would honor our families and also the community and when Holly's came up for sale, we knew this was the reason why we were both brought together. You will see us together in the Deli fighting like sisters one minute and laughing at a joke the next. We have put our heart and souls into this place to make it a fun cheerful place to see old friends and make new ones along the way. So I will end it here by saying thank you to everyone that has been in to welcome us back♥️
