It is with heavy hearts we share the news of Lauren’s father, Tom, passing at 97 years old.

Tom and his wife Anna were year round Harwich residents for 35 years after spending summers in Dennis since 1958 (the year Lauren was born).

Tom was born to Italian immigrants and didn’t learn English until he started school. He worked hard as an iron worker to support his wife and 4 daughters. They were insistent on giving their girls a college education. Lauren followed her parents down Cape when she retired from the IT corporate world.

Lauren has fond memories of her father taking them to get cinnamon sugar donuts on Saturday mornings.

Tom loved black coffee & donuts, especially Boston Cream.

This weeks special donut is a Boston Cream with a little extra chocolate to honor Lauren’s father and the legacy he leaves behind of 4 daughters, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was loved by all who met him, may he rest in the sweetest peace.

The Donut Shop was opened 6 years today on August 8, 2020!

Originally built by Calvin F. Baker in 1884 for his horses & needed a labor of love!

The barn had fallen off its foundation & has been completely renovated into the donut shop. We kept the original floors & some beams.

Since 2020, we have added an entire outdoor seating area, coffee outside on the back deck & the cutest Cape Cod Gift Shed filled with donut & “Capey” gifts Captain Baker Donuts Gift Shed
