It was a whirlwind weekend and I am wheels up headed back to Texas! We have so many exciting things going on 🙌

Including expanding our dining room. And so many more things coming soon!

Colorado Springs and Cheyenne were beautiful, had a couple of days to celebrate with the hubby. Of course, James Joseph had to get his picture with Optimus Prime (RIP) and Bumblebee. You can only imagine how HUGE Optimus was to make James looks small 😆

So grateful for our time together, but anxious to get back and keep building this dream called Kate's! We have our first in-person Katering Event at Kate's on Milam tonight and we can't wait!

We have a delicious Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad at Kate's. Served on a bed of Romaine, topped with Grilled Chicken, Shaved Parmesan, Buttery Croutons and Creamy Caesar Dressing. Delish 😋

We also have a Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad. Which is Grilled Chicken, Realized Bacon Crumbles, Cheddar Cheese, Croutons and our House-Made Ranch.

Try either one of these in a wrap or try adding avocado 🥑

When I opened Kate's over 7 years ago, Heavy Cream was $2.98. It's almost $5. All of our costs have significantly increased... as have your grocery bills, expenses, etc.

I mention this to say that I appreciate all of our faithful customers, who are like family, and support this Small, Family-Owned Business. It means the world to me!

Our Marbled Zebra Frappe - the perfect marriage of white chocolate and dark chocolate with Oreo marbling... sooo good! Ask for a few Oreos blended in it to really take it over the top!

Last week I celebrated my 44th birthday and we celebrated our 8 year anniversary... 1000 miles apart. Today we are together in Colorado (near where James Joseph works)... taking in the sights. Regular business hours at Kate's on 17th in West Columbia and at Kate's on Milam in Wharton. I will be back in Texas on Tuesday 🤠✌️

But seriously... I really want to thank . Nobody really knew but I was a little sad this week, because I had to re-arrange my travel to accommodate scheduling and many other things we have going, so I was alone on my Birthday and Anniversary. Of course, my family was trying to see me. But I was very busy all week, because we have A LOT that we are working on. (Stay Tuned).

But I needed to leave at Noon today to make my flight to Denver to go see James Joseph for the weekend. And EVERYONE was keeping up with the time. And rushing me out the door. Because they know I would have still been there cooking LOL

I really appreciate my team and how we love and care for each other... and how they love me

I know this may not make sense to you all... but even after almost 7 years I still get excited when I am about to cook for y'all.

My niece, Cayla Allen-Ferguson, said something to me this week after she got the Kate's Big Country Breakfast. She said "Those were some Gana-Level grits." If you never had the pleasure of eating a breakfast made by Carolyn Fields (Kate's grandmother), you won't understand the high honor and ultimate compliment that was! She was a chef par excellence!

At Kate's, we really do make everything with LOVE! When I cook, I put my heart and soul into it. And I really hope that translates to you in a way that brings you comfort and makes your life just a little better for it. I also hope you all know how much I love, appreciate and care about my customers, employees and this community we serve. Serving until 2 pm today
