Fun Fact: These chandeliers were purchased two years before we found the new location for Chayz Lounge.

Once it was clear that we had to move, Kim Boxley, who decorated both spaces, found the chandeliers in a consignment shop and bought them on the spot. She said, “Whenever we find the next location, these will hang over the bar.”

When the design of the new space began, the lights were already on hand and ready to be installed. ✨

One of my favorite memories from Chayz Lounge happened after a performance by Chandra Currelley-Young.

The audience rose to their feet in a standing ovation, and as I looked around the room, I saw joy everywhere. But one woman caught my attention because she was crying.

I went over to make sure she was okay.

She smiled and said she, “I’m fine. I’m just so happy. Being here, in my happy place, is exactly what I needed.”

I’ve never forgotten that moment.

It reminded me that we weren’t just presenting music. We were creating experiences that touched people in ways they didn’t always expect.

That’s priceless.
