Today is not about celebration.
It’s about remembrance.

We pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything for this country and for the freedoms we often take for granted.

Their sacrifice made our lives, our families, our traditions, and moments together possible. That debt can never truly be repaid.

The fellas at Straight Bones BBQ are proud to stand for faith, family, freedom, and community. Values carried forward because of those who never came home.

This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen, honor their service, and we hold close the families who carry their legacy every day.

Today, we celebrate the moms, grandmothers, wives, daughters, and all the incredible women who keep the fires burning both at home and throughout the BBQ community. We also hold close in our hearts the mothers who are no longer with us, but whose love and memories continue to shape our lives.

Your love, hard work, patience, and encouragement never go unnoticed.

Our BBQ team had a great time yesterday at the Korte Meat Processing 2nd Annual Rib Burn. We divided the team for this one, with Andrew Bartlett competing under the name Spare Bones. The event had everything — live music, great food, and perfect weather (eventually)— making it a fantastic day.

We were fortunate to be set up next to Ryan E Suydam from OnlyCans, one of the top teams around, and RobbieQ kept the air filled with the smell of brats on the grill. The pits of o'fallon were right beside us as well, adding plenty of friendly back‑and‑forth throughout the day. It was also wonderful reconnecting with teams and friends we haven’t seen in quite some time.

Final results:

• Rib A — 7th
• Rib B — 5th
• Overall — 4th out of 45 teams

Congratulations to everyone who heard their name called.

Next event on our lighter schedule: Smokin’ in the Park — May 30th in Smithton, IL.
