If you come into The Dragon & Cone this evening, you might notice the addition of a couple Keurigs to some of our counterspace.
First, though they are now there, we are not quite ready to fire them up and start making hot drinks (cocoa and coffee).
Second, we never intended to do coffee at all, but? We've had a lot of people come in hoping they could get a coffee with their ice cream or GF baked good. While we always recommend Owl Canyon Coffee Wellington (and we still do!) we have had parents and grandparents with kids tell us they don't want to schlep the littles to a second location for a coffee, so they just don't get one.
As the parents of six (now adult) children, we SO feel that. As the once-stay-at-home-homeschooling mom of all those kids? I especially get that. Everybody likes to talk about decision fatigue and who carries most of the mental load, yet nobody acknowledges schlep strain. I SEE YOU!
All that to say, we'll have coffee soon. We are not going to have fancy coffee. No lattemochesspressaccino here, is what I'm saying.
Ccino . . . Chino? Isn't that the name of the brother character in West Side Story?
BRB
Nope. Chino killed Tony to avenge Bernardo's (the brother) death. Guess it's time for a rewatch.
Anyway, we won't have fancy coffees with artistic foam designs. We will have coffee, made from a Keurig, with a few creamer options and our array of syrups you can have added to your average cup of joe if you'd like. Oh, and I probably need to order sugar packets, no? If you want real coffee house coffee, please keep going to see our neighbors across the street.
But if you're in for treats and just can't make a side quest? We'll have you covered in a very basic way that, honestly, still might be too fancy for my coffee-guzzling, Greatest Generation grandparents, God rest their souls.
So, to recap:
Cocoa is coming (not that anybody wants that just yet . . . stupid, never-ending 90s);
Coffee is coming (we are open to suggestions as far as K Pod brands/flavors), and we can zhuzh it up a little with syrups if you want, but we'd still suggest Owl Canyon if you need a coffee made by people who know deeply what they are doing;
Chino is not Maria's brother in West Side Story but is, rather, her would-be suiter who kills her boyfriend to avenge her brother's death and, arguably, though spelled differently, is part of the name of a fancy type of coffee that we won't be serving.
Hot apple c***r has not been discussed in this post, but we *are* exploring our options there as well (and experimenting with GF apple c***r doughnut recipes, because we have faith that FALL WILL COME).
