C & A Gametime Grillers started by Chris Kreifels and Andy Olson in Chris' front yard during Chiefs games. The passion for producing quality food quickly blossomed into the need for a bigger grill. We set out in February, 2012 building what would later become named "Roxanne." The rig was a horizontal offset smoker with a vertical warming chamber, a charcoal grill, on-rig wood storage, and dual pro
pane burners for sauce prep, etc. When we finished the rig, we decided to participate in the 2012 Wheat Festival Amateur BBQ Cookoff with teammates Kenny DeBuhr and Dustin Olson. We didn't get any calls, but walked away with the more coveted People's Choice award. Also, upon tasting parties we had, were urged to begin catering. In November, we began our venture into custom smoking by smoking 22 turkeys and 5 hams for Thanksgiving. In March, we catered our first large gathering, and in April, competed in our first KCBS competition. Come things have changed a little since then. Time moves on and the team must prevail. Now days, Chris is still at the helm, backed up by his wife Andrea. We will be competing an at least 2-3 more competitions this year and look to expand our competition schedule in 2014. The catering business is slowly growing and plans are in motion for expanding that side of the team as well. Thank you for your interest in the team.
