Happy June 1st, everyone! Yesterday, May 31st, we said our final goodbyes to our beloved matriarch. It was a beautiful and peaceful Lao funeral service, and she was surrounded by so many - more than what the building could fit - people who loved and cherished her deeply. These past couple weeks have been uneasy, especially with trying to balance the restaurant and the Lao funeral preparations. We thank our patrons so much for the support through this rough and painful time.

With that said-- we're happy to announce that Lily's Thai Cafe will be **OPEN TODAY at 3PM**. Please come and let's honour Grandma K's memory with hearty meals and refreshing drinks! MA GIN DER P*E NONG!!! She would've absolutely loved to make sure everyone got their fill, and that no one went home hungry. ♡

Kong Sengxay was wife to Thongsay Sengxay. She is survived by her five children: Noukay, Phoxay (Pho/Paul, head chef), Lamyai, Baysy, and Phyla (Peter); her seventeen grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Grandma K came to the United States from Laos while pregnant with her youngest child, Peter, escaping the Secret War in hopes of building a better life for her family.

Adjusting to a new country was not easy, especially without being able to speak or read the language. Yet through every hardship, she gave her children all the love she had and provided for them the best way she knew how.

Grandma K lived a long and beautiful life. She was deeply loved by many and was a cherished pillar of the Lao community. She touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. She gave so much of herself to those around her and never expected anything in return. Her love, strength, and selflessness will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rest in paradise, our pride and queen. February 10 1934 - May 15 2026. We just know she's having dinner upstairs with Grandpa right now. ♡

Heavy Announcement:

Lily's Thai Cafe, starting tomorrow May 28th, will be closed for the remainder of the week (May 29th, May 30th) so that we can focus on the final stages of funeral preparation for our beloved matriarch.

These past weeks have not been easy. Despite our loss, we've been doing our best to serve this community.

We want to extend our thanks to our patrons for being so patient, understanding, and supportive, especially when we've been closing more than normal due to these hard circumstances. It really means so much to our family. We will be saying our last goodbyes to Grandma K on May 31st. Afterwards, we admit we aren't sure if we want to open immediately after the 31st, but we will keep everyone updated.

Happy Memorial Day!

"What is the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day?": Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance for the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, while Veterans Day celebrates ALL American veterans for their service.

Needless to say, Lily's Thai Cafe will be closed. We'll see everyone back tomorrow, Tuesday! Enjoy the day with your loved ones. Share stories, and treasure every second.

Lily's Thai Cafe will be closed today, as we are still in the stages of funeral preparations. We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank our patrons for their patience and understanding. Our schedule is going to admittedly look wonky this coming week. We will keep everyone updated.

Starting June 1st, in order for us to meet supply & demand for the summer, we have increased our prices for Boba Tea, Thai Tea, Thai Coffee, and Spring Rolls. Inflation continues to rise and doesn't appear to have any plans to stop. We apologize sincerely for these pricing increases and thank those who understand this rough decision. We are a mom & pop place with families to feed and bills to pay in order for everyone to stay afloat during this harsh economy.

Our Boba Teas will be: $8.75
Thai Tea & Thai Coffee will be: $6.00 (+ .95 cents for tapioca pearls)
Spring Rolls will be: $7.95 (if choosing shrimp, price will increase by $3.50)

We especially wanted to give the heads up to our patrons so that their kids and teens can budget their allowances. The Boba Teas are quite popular during the summer season, with a group happy kids and happy teens popping asking for our drinks! Speaking of...

Our Chocolate Boba Tea will no longer be available. It has instead been replaced by a new flavor: Pineapple! Yay, more tropical fruits to the mix! If you're still craving some choclety goodness, we recommend trying our Cookies & Cream flavor. ^_^

From the bottom of our hearts, especially during our time of mourning from Grandma K's passing, we thank our patrons so much for the support and patience everyone has shown us. We are stunned by the love that has been thrown at us, but grateful nonetheless. Compassion goes a long way.
