WELLNESS: WHAT’S ACTUALLY TRUE? 🔎
I’ll sleep five hours tonight and catch up this weekend. That works…right? 😴
Well…sort of.
Sleeping longer after a stretch of too little sleep can help you feel better and recover some of what you’ve missed.
But regularly short-changing your sleep and trying to erase it all on Saturday isn’t quite the same as consistently getting enough sleep.
Sleep affects far more than whether you feel tired.
It plays a role in:
🧠 Memory and concentration
💪 Muscle recovery
❤️ Heart and metabolic health
🍪 Hunger and appetite regulation
😊 Mood
So yes—if you’ve had a rough week, enjoy that extra sleep.
But the better goal is much less exciting:
Make enough sleep a regular part of your health routine—not just your weekend recovery plan.
