Waynesville's Apple Festival is all that and more!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR! WAYNESVILLE’S APPLE HARVEST FESTIVAL RETURNS OCTOBER 17, AND YOU CAN TURN IT INTO AN ENTIRE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS APPLE ROAD TRIP!
If you love mountain towns, apple orchards, fresh c***r and fall scenery, Saturday, October 17, 2026 is a great date to save for a road trip through the Smokies.
Instead of driving straight to the Apple Harvest Festival in Downtown Waynesville, make the journey part of the adventure with apple-country stops across Tennessee and North Carolina.
Begin at Carver’s Orchard & Applehouse in Cosby, Tennessee, then continue to The Apple Barn & C***r Mill in Sevierville for c***r, apple treats and country shopping.
From there, travel through Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, enjoying the mountain scenery as you cross into North Carolina.
Continue toward Bryson City for a stop at Darnell Farms, then make your way to Waynesville.
And now there is another delicious reason to follow this route.
Before heading into Downtown Waynesville, stop at Barber Orchards Fruit Stand, where generations of travelers have stopped for homegrown apples and fresh-baked treats. Their bakery is especially known for its apple turnovers, fritters, pies and other seasonal favorites.
Then it is time for the main event.
