Effective June 8, schools may begin offering whole and 2% milk at breakfast thanks to the “final rule” issued by USDA this month. Schools were able to start serving whole milk for lunch when the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act passed in January.

American Dairy Association North East is supporting schools within its six-state region as they work with dairy processors based on logistics and availability. School changes are expected to roll out as districts update menus and contracts.
