1-Are both of you native to Waycross/Ware County? If not where are you from?
we were born and raised in brantley county
2-Who is the older of the two, and who is really the boss?
kevin is three years older than heidi and let's her be the boss whenever she wants to
3-Who was the most popular in high school?
heidi was so popular in highschool that she repeated 10th grade three times
4-Why did you decide to open a restaurant?
kevin had always worked in the business and wanted to give it a try
5-What is is like working with each other?
we live and work together and get along great at both. we have our strengths and divide up the day to day work of the cafe along those lines
6-What advice do you have for people who are thinking of working with family members?
if you have a great relationship with your family do it. don't attempt it if you are not friends with your family. it will be a painful experience
7-What advice do you have for someone wanting to open their own business
being self employed is very very hard. only the strong and the lucky will survive. choose wisely
8-How important is the concept of family to the both of you?
we can't imagine not being close with our parents and other family. we have never not been and don't know the difference.
9-What is the improvement each of you would like to see for downtown?
kevin would like to see all these empty buildings filled with thriving businesses
heidi would like world peace
10-If both of you were not in the restaurant business, what would you be doing?
kevin could imagine himself working as a concierge at a fancy boutique hotel
heidi would be a real estate agent
