I’ve talked before about praying for DGC to be mentioned in rooms I haven’t entered yet. Today, I got to hear what that sounds like. 🥹💛
I was minding my business when Jimmy sent me a clip from the football broadcast and told me there was a certain part I needed to hear.
Y’all… 🥹
Hearing Max and Jimmy talk about DGC completely unsolicited—and hearing them describe our food as the kind of meal that takes you back to something your grandmama would have cooked—absolutely took me out.
Because THAT is the heart of what I want people to experience when they eat our food.
Comfort. Tradition. Nostalgia. Home.
And when we chose the words “Rooted in Tradition. Served in Style.” for DGC, that's exactly what we meant.
Max and Jimmy, thank you. Truly. 💛
You didn't have to use your platform to speak my name or recommend my business, and I don't take that kind of support lightly. Hearing you speak so genuinely about food I've prepared means more to me than you know.
There is something incredibly humbling about hearing your name spoken well in a room you weren't in.
And apparently while I've been over here working, cooking, building, second-guessing, learning and praying…DGC's name has been traveling without me. 🥹
That's not lost on me.
God, thank You for every person who has eaten from my hands, told somebody else about it, referred a friend, shared a post, booked an event, ordered a plate or simply spoken my name when I wasn't around to hear it.
The rooms are getting bigger. And somehow, You're already in them before I arrive. 🙏🏾
God is so good.
