We didn’t know yesterday would be our final day.

With the beautiful weather, the promise of spring, and an overwhelming outpouring of love from this incredible community, we sold out of nearly everything—one last, perfect rush that felt like a true celebration of everything this place has meant.

To our friends, neighbors, and loyal customers—thank you. Thank you for showing up not just yesterday, but for all the years you’ve supported us, shared in our joy, and made this little shop part of your lives. The memories we’ve created together will stay with me forever.

And to my amazing team—there are no words big enough. Your hard work, your heart and your dedication carried us through every single day. You took care of our customers, of each other, and of me, and you held the fort down with so much pride and love until the very end. I am endlessly grateful for each of you.

This chapter may be closing, but the gratitude I feel will never fade.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you. I am truly, deeply blessed.

After 17+ years of making and producing some of the city’s best gelato, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to step back from the retail side of the business.

I’m happy to share that Ultimate Confections has acquired the production portion of Cold Spoons Gelato and will continue our wholesale operations. Production will move to 800 North 68th Street, where they will offer a variety of grab-and-go pints along with a small selection of flavors available to scoop. Retail operations at Cold Spoons will cease at the end of March.

It has truly been an honor to be part of this community for all these years through both Cold Spoons and Highland’s Café. I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most incredible young people—many of whom grew from teenagers into adults during their time here. Watching them learn, grow, and move forward in their lives has been one of the greatest joys of this journey.

To our customers, families, kids, parents, neighbors, and friends—thank you for embracing us and supporting us for nearly two decades. Your loyalty, encouragement, and kindness have meant more than I can ever put into words.

Couldn’t make this successful without Catherine, Joselyn, Michael, Ali, Eleanor, Louis and many that came before. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We will be starting our summer hours beginning Tuesday, June 3rd. Hours will be Tuesday thru Friday 1pm until 9pm, Saturday noon until 9pm and Sunday Noon until 8pm.
