Summer is a blur, all the days blend together, and having the same hours every day meant I really didn’t even need to know what day of the week it was. What a time to be alive. 😂

Buuuut back to school means back to schedules and back to *having* to know what day it is… because we’ve got updated shop hours!

🍦 TUES - FRI: 2-9pm
🍦 SAT + SUN: 12-9pm

I’d been dreaming up this event since Joy was still just an idea, sooooo I had built it up pretty big in my head. And even then, I was absolutely not prepared for the level of creativity, bravery and just general MAGIC of the whole thing. 🥹

Watching these kids proudly stand behind something they dreamed up, share their passion and process with customers, and practically grow more confident with every interaction. It was just everything.

So hold on to your hearts, we’re doing it again. 💙 Teaming back up with my pal Rosewood Weddings for our 2nd Annual Mini Maker Market is Saturday, September 19 from 1–3pm!

We’re looking for makers ages 5–14 who have something they’re excited to make and are ready to put themselves out there and sell it. No business experience necessary. We’ll even host a little pre-market workshop to help our makers get ready for the big day.

Just as we were wrapping up our best summer yet, finally feeling like we’ve found our groove, and thinking maaaaybe life might slow down a bit… an opportunity popped up that I just couldn’t resist.

So while this 1971 VW Bus is quite literally a slow ride, things have really escalated. 🚌🍦

Hopefully you’ll see her out a time or two yet this fall, but come spring, the Joy Bus is hitting the road for catering!

The summer anthem at our house is me yelling out the back door, “Don’t forget your helmet!” (apologies to our neighbors 😅)

So we’re teaming up with the Wauwatosa Police Department to help get these kids in the habit of remembering on their own. Because let’s be honest… what better motivation than free ice cream? 🍦

Throughout August, if an officer catches your kid riding with their helmet on, they might just get a voucher for a FREE dish at Joy.

Here’s to safe riding and one less thing to holler about 😋

Every Thursday in May from 5–8 we’re bringing some of our favorite food trucks to the shop. Come for dinner, come for a scoop… or do it right and come for both.

I’ve been wanting to do this since the day we opened (yes, mostly for selfish reasons 😅) and I’m SO excited about this lineup.
