"The Original Parlor", opened in the newly flourishing downtown Genesee district in Waukegan, IL, which created an immediate buzz in the community. When construction began, citizens and visitors alike were intriqued by the thought of an ice cream parlor downtown Waukegan, the first of its kind since the 1960s. On October 13th, The Original Parlor had its ribbon-cutting, and made a huge impact on t

he community, serving even the mayor and the Waukegan Chief of Police. On August 31, 2015, we closed the Waukegan location and will be reopening May 1, 2021.

Good Morning, Everyone! It’s been a long and challenging couple years! We made the decision to not re-open over the last couple years due to the Covid-19 restrictions and uncertainty.

We just want to announce we plan to reopen Summer 2023. Location will be announced soon….Please check out our page and/or our website: www.theoriginalparlor.com for the latest updates.

Good Afternoon, Everyone! We hope everyone is safe and healthy! Continue to practice social distancing and mask wearing requirements!

Due to the global health pandemic of Covid-19, we decided to postpone re-opening until Spring 2021.

After the failed landlord/tenant relationship in downtown Waukegan and unethical/misleading potential landlord/tenant relationships in two different locations, we have decided to pursue purchasing our next location.
