“ Mrs. Pot Pie :)

Chef Jody comes from a family where cooking is practically in the blood. On one side, Swedish and German; on the other, French and Italian. She has been in the kitchen for as long as she can remember and has worked professionally as a chef for 25 years.

For the last four years, she has been bringing some of her best recipes—the ones that freeze beautifully—to local farmers markets. Her table is filled with pot pies, soups, curries, turkey chili, and whatever else the season calls for. Right now, that includes summer soups like gazpacho.

I call her Mrs. Pot Pie, but limiting Jody to pot pies would be seriously unfair. This woman has an entire international kitchen packed into a farmers market booth. I buy her green curry every week and one pint of curry makes for me two meals. I like veggie rice bowl, usually add steamed brokkoli, carrots, leaks, sometimes mushrooms, all of which I get from the same market.

And the wonderful thing is that you can take her food home, put it in your freezer, and have a real chef cook dinner for you on a day when you don’t feel like cooking. 🥧”
