IMPORTANT PSA TO ALL LOCAL COFFEE SHOPS AND SMALL BUSINESSES 🗣️

Fraud is at an all time high and these scammers are getting good!! Recently we had an inquiry for a large baked goods order for a “corporate event”. The person emailing back and forth was very specific on what types of baked goods they wanted and breakdowns on pricing. They then sent an e-check for the full amount and proceeded to ask for a week straight if the check had been cashed just to cancel the order once it was cashed due to COVID and quarantine reasons and wanted a refund via Venmo or Zelle.

Naturally this raised suspicions. We then reached out to the company just to find out it was all in fact a scam. Thankfully we did not process a refund as the check ended up bouncing anyway causing no actual hit on our end.

Telling you all this just as a precaution to be careful and ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT!!
