A heartfelt thank-you to our Geno’s family and the Waterloo community. ❤️🍕
To everyone who has stopped in, ordered a meal, shared our posts, recommended us to a friend, or offered encouragement—thank you. Your support means so much to me and our team.
We purchased Geno’s in December 2024 because we wanted to keep this longtime favorite in our community as Curtis sold the business and moved toward retirement. We respect the years of hard work he poured into Geno’s and the relationships that made it special.
After purchasing the business, we continued serving at Crossroads Mall for nearly a year, making our last pizza there on December 15, 2025. We opened our downtown location on April 20, 2026. Geno’s had more than 20 years of history at the mall; this downtown chapter is still less than six months old.
I’m sharing Curtis’s farewell and our earlier anniversary post because they’re meaningful reminders of that history and how recently this new chapter began.
For those who don’t know me, my background is in the military and banking. This is the first restaurant I’ve owned and managed, and I’m learning every day. I’ve put a tremendous amount of care, time, resources, and love into this place because keeping Geno’s here matters to me.
We’ve had things to work through, and I take responsibility for the experience we provide. Your feedback matters, and we’re committed to improving our consistency, service, and food as we grow.
What I ask for is grace, continued support, and the opportunity to show you our progress. If you visited during those first weeks downtown, I hope you’ll come back and see how we’re growing. If you’ve been cheering us on along the way, please know how much that has meant.
Thank you for helping carry Geno’s into its next chapter. We’re grateful for the chance to keep serving this community, one pizza and one customer at a time.
