The Waterloo Historic Preservation Commission is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2026 Annual Awards: Cierra Newman and Pinecrest Construction, LLC. Both honorees are being recognized for their outstanding efforts in preserving and enhancing the historic character of Waterloo.

The awards will be presented during the Commission’s Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 14, 2026, held at the Grout Museum. The evening will begin with a social hour from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by the awards program from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. A cash bar will be available.

The event is held in conjunction with Main Street Waterloo's Tour de Loo event, offering attendees an opportunity to celebrate historic preservation while enjoying one of the community’s signature events. Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers in the Cedar Valley and beyond ❤️

This Mother’s Day is especially meaningful to us because mothers have truly been the backbone of Geno’s success. As we continue building our team and growing this dream, so many amazing mothers have stepped in, supported us, encouraged us, and helped keep things moving forward day after day.

We wanted to take a moment to personally thank a couple of the incredible women who have made a real impact on our journey. Thank you, Elma. Thank you, Jody. Your hard work, support, and dedication have meant more to us than words can express.

We’re truly grateful for the love you’ve shown us during our first week downtown. It means everything.

We will be closed today through Sunday as we take time to conduct interviews, strengthen our team, and prepare to serve even more of you.

Our downtown location is off to an amazing start, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
