Since the beginning of the Old Dutch, we’ve had many customers who have showed up and stayed for 15 years, loving food & supporting us.
L.B. & Bonnie are top on that list.
Whether at lunchtime for business, or dinner time for pleasure, you would often find L.B. & family in our dining room.
And you could find L.B. with a bowl of soup.

It became a bit of a joke for us, thinking L.B. would just dine with us for soup, so in fact, he could go elsewhere for second bowl of soup to support all of his favorite places.
That’s what he did- support us all.
Everyday was a perfect day for soup for L.B. he said..

So today in honor of L.B., we serve one of his favorites, New England Clam Chowder.

We invite you to have a bowl of soup today, as this community prepares to honor and lay to rest such a vital part of Washington’s history.

Our deepest condolences and love today to Bonnie and the entire Eckelkamp Family, and all of those at the Bank of Washington, that as we know well, become family as well.
