Join us for a special four-night pop-up featuring HEUNKUOA, a deeply personal Laotian culinary project created by Anita and her mother, Chef Mam . Born in their Greenpoint apartment, Heunkuoa—meaning “home kitchen”—is a celebration of Lao food, culture, and connection, rooted in love and family tradition.

Chef Mam, who learned the art of Laotian cooking from her mother-in-law, brings multi-generational recipes to the table with heart and authenticity. This collaboration is more than just a dining experience—it’s a love letter to Laos, a tribute to heritage, and a reflection of food as a universal language of care.

We’re honored to host this meaningful event alongside our amazing collaborators & friends, Every Person Run Club , , and Chef whose vision, heart, and commitment to culture and care bring this moment to life.

The run will be led and hosted by Every Person Run Club, whose mission is to create inclusive spaces for all people to move together with intention, joy, and purpose. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking to join the movement, this event is for everyone.

This isn’t just a run. It’s a gathering of hearts in motion. In honor of AANHPI Heritage Month, we’re coming together to celebrate the strength, beauty, and resilience of our communities—with every step we take and every plate we share.

On April 27, a tragedy struck the Lapu-Lapu Festival in Vancouver, leaving families grieving and hearts heavy. This run is dedicated —to the lives lost, to the loved ones forever changed, and to the hope that still lives in community.
✨ We run for heritage. ✨ We run for healing. ✨ We run to remember—and to rebuild.

After the run, we’ll gather for a Filipino brunch at 1250 H St NE, where you’ll enjoy a flavorful spread of traditional dishes, connect with community, and take time to reflect on what it means to move through the world together.

Proceeds will go directly to the families affected by the April 27 Lapu-Lapu Festival tragedy.
