COMING SOON TO OUR POUR-OVER LINEUP. In 2023, Dandy Dharmawan won the Cup of Excellence Indonesia, the most prestigious coffee competition in the world, and the Comandante Top Farm Award. Just two years later, the talented young farmer and processor passed away at 32. His legacy lives on.

The farm, East Java - Indonesia Coffee Producer 🇲🇨 continues to operate, and we’re proud to be one of many hands carrying the torch forward. Ijen Lestari coffee is coming to our pour-over lineup very soon! Supply is limited and only available to enjoy at our shop in Downtown, DC.

These beans are processed using natural carbonic maceration, an innovative method borrowed from winemaking: whole, intact coffee cherries are sealed in a carbon dioxide-rich, oxygen-free tank to ferment from the inside out.

Dandy was Indonesia’s most recent Cup of Excellence winner. After a two-year gap, the 2026 COE will take place this October.

Buana means “THE WORLD” 🌏, and our new espresso coffee beans really do travel it before they reach your cup!

It starts in Pangadegan, West Java, where farmer Boim Agus tends the trees with care. The cherries then pass through Klasik Beans Cooperative, where processors carefully work their craft to bring out the nutty chocolate, prune, and brown sugar notes you taste in the cup. Roasted in small batches and brewed by us for you.

So many hands, so much patience, before it ever hits your cup. That’s what Buana means to us, and it means the world to us that you get to taste all of it 🌏❤️

In a recent article, wrote about how Aren Latte, an Indonesian recipe, is taking the world by storm.

And honestly? It fills our hearts to have been part of that storm since 2020 by staying true to our Indonesian roots in the US specialty coffee scene. Our aren sugar comes straight from the hands of farmers in West Java, Indonesia, who climb these towering trees to harvest the sap that makes every cup so extraordinary.

As beautifully put it: “Aren sugar carries a deep, almost smoky sweetness with caramel undertones and a whisper of molasses. It does not simply sweeten; it transforms the beverage.”
