In a recent article, wrote about how Aren Latte, an Indonesian recipe, is taking the world by storm.

And honestly? It fills our hearts to have been part of that storm since 2020 by staying true to our Indonesian roots in the US specialty coffee scene. Our aren sugar comes straight from the hands of farmers in West Java, Indonesia, who climb these towering trees to harvest the sap that makes every cup so extraordinary.

As beautifully put it: “Aren sugar carries a deep, almost smoky sweetness with caramel undertones and a whisper of molasses. It does not simply sweeten; it transforms the beverage.”

There’s no place like your home away from home. At DUA DC, we say ‘hello’ and ‘see you again’ daily.

A warm welcome back recently to Larry and from Kansas City, who’ve made DUA DC their daily stop whenever they are in the city. From the recent DC Snowmageddon (check out that second pic!) and sunny spring mornings.

And to our beloved regular who discovered her love for our fan-favorite Matcha Mango and is now embarking on a new adventure as a newlywed in Indiana.

This isn’t a goodbye, it’s see you again! DUA DC will always be your Washington DC coffee shop home base whenever you’re back in the city 💛
