It is with some sadness and so much gratitude that we announce that Mélange will be closing its Mount Vernon Triangle location this week. We anticipate moving to a different location in the near future. Stay tuned for an announcement as soon as details are finalized.

In September 2020, Mélange first opened its doors in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood as part of the EDENS Catalyst program. With the community's unwavering support and an extremely hard-working team, Mélange not only survived but thrived during the pandemic. Because of that overwhelming support up until this day, what was originally intended to be a one-year lease turned into a couple. As the program's first chef participant, I am exceptionally grateful to EDENS for the opportunity to continue to grow my culinary expertise at CityVista.

Although we close our doors for now, we look forward to welcoming you to our new home soon. Saturday, April 22, will be Mélange's last day open at City Vista. We hope you can stop by to grab some of your favorites and so we can say 'thank you' in person. Until we open our new location, please visit Mélange's sister restaurant, Doro Soul Food to get my take on soul food infused with Ethiopian spices and flavors.

Mélange (449 K Street NW) is a fast-casual dining concept from Michelin-starred Chef Elias Taddesse. Known for serving juicy burgers, flavorful sandwiches, and creative dishes, Mélange blends contemporary French cuisine techniques with traditional American and Ethiopian flavors.

Cashier/Server Job Description: We are searching for friendly and professional Servers to join our restaurant staff. As the first point of contact, you will greet and assist customers as they enter our restaurant. Our commitment to customer service, cleanliness & serving fresh, quality food is what really sets us apart from the rest. In this position, delivering outstanding customer service will be your main objective. Additional responsibilities include processing food orders, cleaning public spaces, and packaging orders. The ideal candidate will be friendly, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities:
Welcome customers and help determine their orders.
Process customer orders and record them in the restaurant POS system.
Process customer orders with third-party delivery services.
Relay customers’ orders to the kitchen staff.
Ensure all orders are delivered to the customers in a timely manner.
Accept cash and return the correct change.
Tally money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each work shift.
Place food orders in the appropriate bags and boxes.
Respond to customer inquiries, issue receipts, and record customer suggestions.
Clean and arrange eating, service, and kitchen spaces.
Help kitchen staff when needed.
