HAPPY
MOTHER'S

I'm a day late & I didn't take a single
photo until the very end of our night...
Meet Mama Byrde.
She has been coming back year after year after year.
Despite the music, the door slamming, the bell ringing, kids playing, kids screaming, the hundreds of people walking underneath her every weekend, our cats & our late night hang out sessions...Mama Byrde comes back to us.
Immediately upon her arrival home she cleans her nest from the wind swept items, droppings and remnants from last years growing babies. Instinctively, she then starts in on repairing the nest ensuring it is sturdy and safe for her new family. 🐥
I watch her as she flies in and out, always puffing her feathers before she carefully lays back down, low in her nest, warmly covering each egg. From a distance she almost looks motionless, but every so often she shifts gently, carefully turning the eggs with her beak so warmth reaches each one evenly. Because that's what Mama's do💚
I want to thank all of the families who celebrated Mother's Day out here. It sure was a beautiful day.
& a special thank you to all of you Mother's who, like Mama Byrde, choose to come back year after year after year to spend your Mother's Day here with us✨
