We made it home!!! Always an adventure especially driving the "big red dog!" We start out for Madison Bouckville Antique Week on Thursday evening August 6, always cooler to travel in the evening as the truck has NO ac, when guess what she decided to blow the pressure sensor hose. Not only did it dump all the oil, it decided to spray into the cab and all over everything including me. 🙄 Well guess we don't have to worry about rust as she is well oiled. 😂 so after trying to get towed which was a nightmare. Progressive couldn't tow us off the thruway and I didnt renew my AAA. I asked Joe if there was anything he could do. So he went out and invested. He found the line that was leaking and mcgiverd it and put what oil we had in it. Off we went. We lost our holding tank somewhere along the way and almost lost my steps. 😱 Finally got set up.
Sunday was a all time record day Mama Mae's has ever had. I am so grateful Dolores Fawkes and Dieter Kretschy came to lend a hand.
We had a few hiccups during the week. We have some changes to make. So thankful to have people like Neil Collins that came to the rescue when I lost power to the flat top. He helped Joe Mohney trace wires and get it back up and running.
I can't thank all the people that came out to support me. I am overwhelmed with all kind words and supportive friends and customers. A special thanks to CJ , Chip, Colleen Wiedman and Bill. I couldn't done it with out your help here and there. And I can't forget one of my best customer, cookie monster Ben Diffendorf ! Thank you all.
My husband is my biggest supporter from running the generator, mcgivring things, getting things up and running in the morning to talking to me while I did the last night pie baking. Thank you for all your hard work. Love you.
East EXPO Antique Show promoters are amazing. Always making sure things are going well. Thank you for an amazing show.
And don't think the ride back was easy.... no. ... it couldn't be. Joe had to work his magic AGAIN!!! My fuel return line decided to leak on the way home.
Stay turned lots of exciting things are coming in 2027 for Mama Maes. We will be back to Madison next year and Mama Maes has a trailer in the works for next year.
Thanks again!
