❤️ A MESSAGE FROM JAMES AT BIGS PIZZA & SUBS ❤️
Anyone who truly knows me knows that I would give the shirt off my back to help someone in need. Supporting people, families, organizations and our community has always been important to me.
But I want to address something that happened recently.
Bigs gets asked for donations sometimes once or twice every single week. We have donated to many great causes, but unfortunately, we simply cannot financially donate to every person or organization that walks through our doors.
Recently, someone came in asking for a donation, and we weren’t able to help this time. This morning, I received a message from a customer telling me that I was the one person who didn’t donate and that because of that, they would no longer do business with Bigs.
I won’t mention any names. They know who they are.
I’ll admit, that was disappointing to hear. A donation is supposed to come from someone’s ability and willingness to give—it shouldn’t be something a business is made to feel guilty or ashamed about when they simply can’t do it.
I truly wish we were financially able to say YES to every fundraiser, benefit, team, family and organization that asks us for help. But when you’re receiving donation requests every week, it just isn’t realistic for a small business.
Please remember that behind every small business are real people trying to pay employees, keep the doors open, support their families and still give back to their community whenever they can.
To everyone who has supported Bigs, whether we’ve been able to donate to your cause or not, THANK YOU. ❤️
We will continue helping our community whenever and however we can. We just ask for a little understanding when sometimes the answer has to be no.
