A quick note as we continue our soft opening phase:
The restaurant business is hard and fraught with risk. But we, like most restaurant owners, are driven by our passion and vision over our common sense, so we decided to up the level of difficulty by resurrecting a legendary local brand, El Charro. Long neglected, bankrupted, and in an irretrievable state of disrepair, but loved, by generations of patrons. Easy, right?
The El Charro in each customer's memory is precious, special and unique, and we knew we could never live up to those memories by simply mimicking or trying to duplicate those recipes and that environment. We realized that it's impossible to recreate that particular, singular magic that El Charro customers experienced for decades. So we're here to make some new El Charro magic. The questions we ask ourselves are: How can we present these old menu favorites in a new light so they can be appreciated by new regulars as well as old? How can we both reinvigorate the El Charro brand and stay true to its history? How can we welcome old customers and new, and create a menu and environment that both can enjoy? That's what we're trying to do, and it's a work in progress.
We can't promise that we will make everyone happy, but we will do our best to offer excellent food and superior service. Nobody can compete against great memories, but we do hope you will give us a chance to make new ones with you.
